William "Bill" O. Schermitzler

On March 27, 2020, Bill Schermitzler, loving husband and father passed away peacefully at the age of 78 in Yuma, AZ.

Bill was born in Kaukauna, WI to Orvis and Carolyn Schermitzler. Bill was married to Marilyn "Merl" (Smarzinski) for 58 years. Bill worked at Thilmany Pulp and Paper Company for 40 years before retiring and spent the past 20 years wintering in Yuma, AZ.

Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and boating; and in retirement, woodcarving and volunteering at the Yuma Community Food Bank.

He is survived by his wife Marilyn, son Keith (Mary), daughter Kim (Mark) Huhn, his sister Nancy Schneider and sister-in-law Gayle. Further survived by 4 grandchildren: Greta, Henry, Molly and Alex and many other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents and brothers Robert and John (Gayle).

Memorial donations may be made in Bill's honor to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

A private funeral mass will be held. A celebration of Bill's life to be held at a later date.
