Obituary

In 1941, on an Irish Holiday touting green beer and leprechauns, the day was forever changed to the birthday of Vicki Vee Guse. Aletha (Lee) and Sherman (Henery, Hank) welcomed a beautiful, blonde baby girl into the world.Vicki grew up with her younger brother Craig, in the Washington Tri-cities area attending grade schools and primary schools. She graduated from Columbia High School, Richland in 1959 and she hit the ground running.

Vicki worked for Hanford as Quality Assurance Manager but found it to be too mundane.  This led her on her extensive travels to Europe. From 1962 to 1967 she worked for the Director of Operations for the US Airforce in both France and England. Even with her impressive credentials and important job,  she still managed to find lots of time to ski on every slope she could.

Returning to America, Vicki worked for IBM in San Jose, then Portland, and finally Spokane where her 22 year career with them ended when IBM closed. She worked for Seafirst Bank, then Bank of America for 13 years where she retired.

In Spokane is where she met, fell in love with, and married her true love, Dale. Dale came with a plus one, a daughter Holly, who was 3 years old at the time.  Becoming a wife and a mother at the same time was a joy she never ever let us forget. In 2006, Vicki & Dale moved to Yuma to take care of her parents.  The weather and friends they met there would be a perfect fit. Golf carts, sun shine, Mexico, street parties and endless sunsets provided the perfect setting for retirement life for Vicki. Her feet landed in Arizona, but she remained a die hard Seahawk, Mariner, Gonzaga, WSU Cougar fan!

Dale & Vicki set out on many adventures around the world. Planes, trains, boats, automobiles, sporting events, concerts, traveling to see family and friends! They did it all! Travels to Alaska, Hawaii, Mexico, Germany, and Idaho to see their daughter and family were some of their favorite places to visit.  Vicki adored her grandchildren Dawson & Delaney. The trips to visit always had plenty of laughter and adventure. Vicki sent fantastic packages to them and they will miss her random acts of kindness she shared with all.

Vicki will be welcomed into heaven by her younger brother Craig, parents Hank & Lee, many friends and loved ones, and too many cats to count.

Vicki is survived by her husband Dale at their home in Yuma, daughter Holly, son in law Justin, grandson Dawson, granddaughter Delaney all of Idaho. Sister in law Marlene, niece Lex (Christoph) of Washington.  Niece Carrie Newton (Scott), nephews Joe, Nick, & Jim (Amy) Guse.

A Celebration of Life will take place on March 17, 2022, Vicki's Birthday, at Villa Alameda RV Resort. Details will be posted on the Villa Alameda Facebook page at a later date.  In lieu of cards and flowers, please make a donation to the Yuma Humane Society or Amberly's Place Family Advocacy Center.
