Timothy P.
Murphy
Apr 23, 1954 — Apr 21, 2023
Yuma
Timothy P Murphy lived 68 years. He was born in Modesto,CA but soon moved
with his parents, Bascomb(Bob) and Sharon Murphy, along with his brother and
sister to Yuma via Bard when Bob transferred with CHP. Before long they were
joined by 4 more children. Tim graduated from St. Francis Catholic School and
then became a proud Kofa King graduating in 1972. He worked for the Arizona
Department of Transportation for over 30 years, retiring in 2011. Shortly
afterward he began his favorite job as "Manny" to his grandson/wingman,Jacob.
Tim met and married his wife, Laura in 1977, when it's right,it's right. Together
they raised a son, Joshua(Daniela)Murphy and daughter, Sharon(Manuel)
Casas. They were blessed with 5 grandchildren, Alyssa Murphy, McKenna
Casas,Jacob Casas,Eliana and Axel Murphy. Tim was a sucker for children and
spoiled all with love.
Tim was a gentleman. He treated everyone lucky enough to know him with
respect and kindness. He loved all animals, especially dogs. He reveled in a well
cut green lawn and actually enjoyed weeding, any lawn he took care of was a
showplace. He never missed a dove or deer hunt if he could help it, and loved to
cook and share all he bagged. He loved to cook, period.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Mike and Kevin, and his
sister, Alicia. Tim is survived by his wife, son, daughter, grandchildren, sisters,
Cindy Murphy and Pam(Keith)Bradley, brother, Patrick(Irina)Murphy, his
sisters-in-law Rebecca Lorona, and Rachael(Steve) Nickle, his lifelong best
friend Louie Ramirez, 17 nephews and nieces, and 32 great-nephews & nieces
many of whom rallied to share in Tim's last days.
His last days were made more comfortable with the gentle care of Stephanie O,
Adrian and Stephanie R and finally Hospice of Yuma, who promised to keep Tim
comfortable to the end, promise fulfilled.
Remember Tim next time you see a bird soaring in the sky, play with a dog or
cuddle a baby. As these were a few of his favorite things.
