In Loving Memory

Sonya Lizette Gomez passed away on October 17, 2021 at the age of 43.  She was born on September 5, 1978 in Yuma, Arizona to Danny and Concha Garcia.  She graduated from Yuma High School in 1997.  In 2002, Sonya married her true love, Jesus Gomez, who was her partner for 20 years.  Her beautiful life will always be remembered by her husband, two children; Aaliyah Garcia and Jesus Gomez, and two children through marriage; Ailyn Ray (Jonah) and Jose Gomez. She is survived by her parents, and siblings; Daniel Garcia, Javi Garcia; niece and nephew Mylinda and David Garcia; and Lety Petrokovitch (Steve).

Sonya was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She enjoyed entertaining and spending time with family and friends.  She was the life of the party and  brightened up any room. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh. She loved her Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and Texas.

The family would like to thank everyone for the love and prayers.  If you had the pleasure of knowing Sonya, you would know that she will have a lasting impression that will last a lifetime. She will be always loved, never forgotten, and forever missed.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 29th from 5-9pm at Desert Valley Mortuary in Somerton.
