Ralph Sherman Pew, 86, of Yuma, AZ joined our Lord on June 5, 2019 with his loving wife of 59 years, Virginia Sommers Pew and daughter, Vicki Pew Hammond by his side.  He is also survived by Mrs. Martin (Gail Bruderly) Pew of Greenford, OH and his many grandchildren:  Nathan and Daniella (Carlos) Hammond, Nicholas Hammond, Hannah Hammond of Yuma, AZ and Savannah Pew, Quentin Pew of Greenford, OH along with his step-grandchildren Amber (Burkey) Wilson, Crystal Burkey and Sierra Burkey all from Ohio.  He was preceded in death by his son, Martin Pew of Greenford, OH.

Ralph S. Pew was born on March 25, 1933 in North Jackson, OH, the son of Ralph and Irene (Teeters) Pew.  He was also preceded in death by his siblings: Edward, Robert, James, Raymond Pew and Carol (Pew) Felger.

The Pew family was raised on a small farm in North Jackson, OH.  Ralph served two years of active duty in the United States Army Airborne Division from 1956 to 1958 with two years active reserves.  He then worked at Warren Slag Plant as a young man until the plant closed in the 1970's.  Afterward, he pursued a career as a residential carpenter and raised his family in Salem, Ohio.

Ralph was an avid golfer and bowler.  Furthermore, he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son, Martin.  He retired at the age of 62 and began boating with his wife on the many lakes in Northeastern Ohio.  Ralph was devoted to his grandchildren.  Ralph and Virginia Pew moved to Yuma, AZ in 2005 to be with their daughter, Vicki and her children.
