Perry J
Pensky
Nov 20, 1958 — Dec 6, 2025
Yuma
Perry Joseph Pensky passed away on 12/6/25 at the age of 67 surrounded by his family in Yuma, Arizona. He was born and raised by Bernard and Louise Pensky in Yuma.
Perry's life was one of passion, purpose, and community spirit. A lifelong member of Christ Lutheran Church, he carried his faith into every aspect of his life. After graduating from Kofa High School in 1976, he attended Arizona State University from 1976-1979. Perry returned to Yuma to work alongside his father at Penn Signs. Over the next 45 years, he helped grow the business into a cornerstone of the local economy. He is known throughout Yuma for both his craftsmanship and generosity. Perry's signs became landmarks in their own right.
An avid golfer since childhood, Perry found joy on the fairways around the world with his loyal golf crew. He was a lifetime member of the Yuma Golf and Country Club. Organizing tournaments brought him great pride and even greater joy when he fulfilled his lifelong dream of building a home on the golf course with his beloved wife, Shelly.
When not on the greens or at work, Perry could be found off-roading through the Imperial Sand Dunes with his gearhead friends, especially with Willy Zamora and his nephew, Reece, relishing every dusty mile behind the wheel. Summers were reserved for family getaways to the Colorado River, Pacific Beach, or Arizona's White Mountains.
Perry's commitment to service was evident in every corner of the community. He was a proud member of the Yuma Rotary since 1982 and member of the World Sign Association (WSA).
A devoted, loving husband to Shelly, loving father to his daughter, Natasha (Jay McMullen), and proud papa to James. He shared a close bond with his daughter, Tasha (son in law Jay) and cherished every moment spent with his grandson, James. He is fondly remembered by his sister, Janet, brothers, David and Alan Wayne, numerous nephews, nieces, and large extended family spread across the nation.
Perry is survived by his loving wife, Shelly of 43 years, daughter Natasha (Jay), grandson James, sister Janet (Eric Pettersen), brothers David (Barbara), Alan Wayne Johnson (Diane), brother in law Matt Cohea (Christine), sister in law Sherry (Mike Gardner), Melissa (Mike Maynard) nephews Nathan, Ramey, Reece, Matthew, Andrew, David, Ian, Rowan, nieces Staisha, Nikki, and Jordyn.
Perry was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Bernie (1989) and Louise Pensky (1995).
May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him best and inspire others to live with as much heart as he did.
