It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Martha (Marty) LeeNora Pitts of Phoenix, Az (and Colton, SD) on August 19, 2021, at the age of 91 years.

She will be lovingly remembered by her 8 children, 20 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grand-children; her sister, Lurlene Runyan of Sioux Falls, SD as well as numerous relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle Pitts, daughter Joy Renee and  brother Edward Prestegard.

Born in Colton, So. Dakota April 30, 1930 to Louis and Katie Prestegard. Attended school in Colton and married her husband Lyle Pitts there in 1948. Moved to Sioux Falls in 1960 and lived there until 1970. Moved back to Colton where she and Lyle ran a small cafe. She and her husband Lyle moved to Phoenix in 1980 where they made it their permanent home.

A member of the Eastern Star, Extension Club, Girl Scout Leader, Sunday School teacher and dedicated room mother at school. Spent many years working at Burke's Fine Clothing and Fredrick Fisher Jewelers.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers Memorial Donations may be made in her memory to either of these charities.
