Maria Rodriguez's Obituary
Maria was the daughter of Benito and Maria Martinez. She was actually born in Somerton Arizona, but was registered in San Luis Rio Colorado Mexico. She was 3rd youngest of 10 kids. She lived and was raised in Ejido Lagunitas in the outskirts of San Luis Rio Colorado Mexico. She lived there with her parents and 6 sisters and 3 brothers. At age 17 she met the love of her life Catarino Rodriguez and shortly after that married him.
Maria and Catarino lived in a nearby town called Ejido Islita. There they raised 6 children, 4 girls and 2 boys. Maria was a caring and lovable wife and mother. She with her husband Catarino by her side were the pillars and foundation of the family. Maria was a strong willing woman that never gave up, not even through the last years of her life battling with her illness, and up-to her last breath. Maria or as she will always be remembered Nana Maria, even though she never liked that name left us with many wonderful memories. The older grand kids and her children will remember her favorite saying, ADIO! Also her favorite word before grandpa passed was, CATARINO!, and after he died it was, ERNESTO! As she would yell because of her loss of hearing. We will always keep her in our hearts and will never forget Nana Maria. We love you!
