Dozal
Nov 22, 1931 — Jan 18, 2026
Manuel Bañuelos, 94, passed away peacefully at home and surrounded by his family on January 18, 2026, in Somerton, Arizona. Born on November 22, 1931, in Huejucar, Jalisco, Mexico, Manuel lived a long and meaningful life rooted in hard work, devotion to family, and simple joys.
Throughout his life, Manuel was known for his dedication and strength. He spent many years working in agriculture and as an equipment operator—fields that demanded resilience and commitment. His work ethic was unwavering and reflected the values he carried throughout his life.
Family was at the heart of everything Manuel did. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 61 years, Otilia Bañuelos Zesati; sons Fidel, Jorge, Javier, Jaime, and Ernesto; and daughter Adela Bañuelos. Brothers Jesus and Ruben Bañuelos and Elodia Calderon as well as nine half siblings. His presence brought warmth and joy to his grandchildren: Christina, Gabriela, Andres, Jorge Jr., Natalie, Emily, Arianna, Zaire, Fiona, Briselle, Elliott, Emmett, and Ryan. He also leaves behind great-grandchildren Santino and Juliana. Manuel shared happiness with his daughters-in-law Dee, Yolanda, Isabel, and Maggie.
Manuel found great happiness in the company of his grandchildren. His face would light up whenever they were near—a testament to the deep love he held for them. Whether tending to his garden, locating various cities and towns on his maps or listening to music that stirred memories of home and heritage, he found peace in life's quieter moments.
He was preceded in death by his parents Felix Bañuelos and Guadalupe Bañuelos Dozal; brothers Salvador and Jose Maria (Chema) Bañuelos; sisters Victorina and Consuelo Bañuelos; as well as half-siblings Marina Bañuelos, Ruben Bañuelos, Maria De La Luz Bañuelos, and Carmela Bañuelos.
