Lynora Connell Obituary

Lynora was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma on May 27, 1954 and went home to be with the Lord in Heaven on May 2, 2021 in Yuma, Arizona.

Her family moved back to California a couple years after her birth. She was raised in Compton and Anaheim, California.

Lynora married Glenn Connell on January 26, 1974 in Downey, California. They were married for 47 years. Lynora is survived by her husband Glenn, her two children Richard and Sarah, and her two granddaughters Lily Ann and Irelyn.

Additional surviving family members include her mother Gloria Carman, her sister Lorraine, her sister Nancy, and her brother David.

As an adult, Lynora lived in Southern California, Honolulu, Hawaii, Phoenix, Arizona, and finally Yuma, Arizona for the past 20 years.

Over the years Lynora worked as a secretary, book store clerk and assistant manager, pre-school teacher, and an elementary school teacher.

Lynora was a loving and faithful wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her Lord and looked forward to church every Sunday to worship the Lord and serve people.

Lynora had a love for children, especially younger children, and loved to work with four-year olds. She would prepare just as much to teach one child as for a larger class. She prayed with many children to receive Jesus as their Savior.

Even more, Lynora had a real love for her Savior and Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God who was risen from the dead. That declaration and belief gave peace and hope to her, especially in her last days. She talked of Heaven and looked forward to being there, and now she is there. Amen!
