Obituary

Lyle Vernon Wold....Loving husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather passed away at the age of 79 in Yuma, AZ

Lyle is survived by his loving wife Melodie, 3 children, Burton, Nick, and Natailie, 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandhild, along with other family members from his blended family including 4 stepchildren.

Lyle was born #11 of 13 in order of brothers and sisters to Theodore and Selma Wold in South Dakota. He had 5 brothers including himself, and 8 sisters. Still living Harriet Hofer, Kathy Harris, Lorraine Hodges, Marilyn Wileman, Lloyd Wold, and Russel Wold.

Lyle was a proud Veteran of the United States Army serviving his country proudly in Vietnamn February 1964-February 1967 where he earned several medals one of which being the Bronze Star Medal of Honor. Lyle was always proud to have served his country, and upon returning home flew the American Flag with Pride.

Lyle was a man of many talents and trades, working several years beside his brothers as a licensed plumber, owning his own machining business, tool and dye maker for the Boeing Company, before retiring from Machinists Inc. in Seattle, Wa.

After retirement Lyle and Melodie decided to take on some new challenges together. First one being taking care of a 100 year old Historical Building in The Dalles, Oregon for several years before heading to the Oregon Coast to become Inn Keepers. This allowed Lyle to use his widespread knowledge and skills to keep him busy. There wasn't anything that Lyle couldn't fix. In his final retirement he enjoyed woodworking/crafting and sharing it with others.

In 2014 Lyle and Melodie decided it was time to settle down and purchase a home in Klamath Falls, Oregon. After about 2 years more snow and cold weather then he cared to live in we were on the move again. This time headed to sunny Yuma, AZ. Purchased our Yuma home in 2017, sold our Klamath Falls home and from there we decided we were in our "Happy Place" and became Full-Time Sun Loving Yumans. Both deciding it was the best decision we had ever made.

Lyle will be missed by many, but made so many memories he'll never be forgotten.

You've earned your wings Lyle, now Fly High.
