Luz Elvira Galvan

June 5, 1946 – August 12, 2021

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Luz Elvira Galvan, age 75, of Somerton, AZ on August 12, 2021.  Luz was born in Guamuchil, Sinaloa, Mexico and had been a resident of Somerton for almost 40 years.  She was a great wife, mother and friend that will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Diego Galvan Sr.  She is also survived by her 4 children Diego (Yvonne) Galvan Jr., Donna (Richard) Meraz, Samuel Galvan, and Daniel (Alejandra) Galvan Sr. in addition to her 4 grandchildren Samantha, Danielle, Nathan, and Daniel Jr.

Luz's life will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Desert Valley Mortuary located at 138 N. Avenue B in Somerton, AZ.  Public viewing will be from 5pm to 9pm.  Church services will be held at 8:30am on August 19, 2021 at Imagine Nations Church located at 2445 E. 24th Street in Yuma, AZ.  Burial services will follow at 10am at Desert Lawn Memorial Park located at 1415 S. 1st Avenue in Yuma, AZ.
