Joel Nunez

1991 – 2021

On Wednesday June 9, 2021, Joel Nunez, a loving and caring husband and father to 2 daughters, went to join his grandparents in heaven at the age of 30.

Joel was born on February 18 ^th in El Paso Texas, to Carlos and Beatriz Nunez, and moved to Yuma Arizona at the age of 9 along with his parents and siblings. He was the youngest of three boys and second to youngest of all siblings.

Joel was a fighter to the end. He never gave up hope and his love for his girls pushed him to fight no matter what the odds were, or how much pain he would have to endure. He would always pick life because of the love he had in his heart for his family.

Joel was the type of friend everyone wishes they had. He was always ready to help with anything, whether it was changing the oil on a car, or setting up an app on your phone. He was quiet but he wasn't shy, and you always had to watch your back for a witty comeback from him.

He was an avid fan of mechanical work as well as the Dallas Cowboys (How 'bout them Cowboys!). He also enjoyed playing games of all kinds with his friends and family, and most specially with his wife Karla and their beloved daughter Kiara.

Joel's love will now pour over from heaven to his beloved best friend and wife Karla, and their two daughters Kiara and Kiana.

Joel is survived by his beloved best friend and wife Karla, his two daughters Kiara and Kiana, his father Carlos Nunez, mother Beatriz Nunez and three siblings, his beloved "Big Bro" Alex Lujan, brother Carlos Nunez, and sister Jazmine Nunez.

Joel wanted everyone to continue to live full happy lives and to embrace his wife and children with love. He wished for a casual gathering and didn't want people to wear formal or black attire. Please dress casually and comfortably per his wishes.

Be prepared to share your favorite Joel memory as these memories will be written down and kept for Joel's daughters to cherish in the years ahead.

A celebration of his life and memorial service, will be held on Saturday, June 19, at 138 N Avenue B, Somerton AZ from 2-5 pm. A light lunch and drinks will be served.
