Joel was born in San Luis, Mexico on March 4,1973 and is survived by his wife Maricela Mendez, Parents Ubaldo and Ana Hilda Mendez, 7 children Tony, Osric, Pricilla, Ethan, Emrin, Zachary and Tristen, 3 grandchildren Riley, Adeline, and Levi. Also, his 4 siblings, Daniel, Brenda, Bebo, Bryana and all his nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, and cousins. Joel graduated from Cibola High School in 1992 and continued his education at the University of Phoenix where he achieved his bachelor's degree in Supply Chain and Management in October 2013. Joel was very career driven and obtained numerous plant management positions with International Paper Co., Johnson Controls, Serta Simmons Bedding, Hickory Spring Manufacturing and Abanti Windows and Doors. Outside of working his favorite hobbies consisted of bike trailing, hiking, tree climbing, kayaking and anything outdoors. He loved the outdoors just as much as he loved his Carolina Panthers. Joel would instantly light up the room with his presence and was the sunshine to many people. The highlights of his life were his friends, family, grandchildren, kids, and his wife.
