Joe N. Valdez III (Gordo) 62 passed away surrounded by his family in Chandler, AZ
(formally of Deming, NM) on December 7, 2019. Joe was born on June 19, 1957 in
Albuquerque, NM, to Joe N. Valdez II. and Mary E. (Saiz) Valdez.
Joe graduated from Deming High School in 1976. After graduation Joe joined the
United States Marine Corp and served his country for 20 year. He was awarded a
Navy Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Metal (with 5 stars), National Defense
Service Metal, Meritorious Unit Commendation (with 3 stars), Sea Service
Deployment Ribbon (with 3 stars), Meritorious Mast, Certificate of Achievement (2)
and Letter of Appreciation (2). He was Honorably Discharged and Retired 1996.
He was previously married and out of that marriage he had his two sons. which he
is survived by Gabriel (Gabe) Valdez of Deming, NM and Arthur (Tudy) Valdez and
his wife Jackie Valdez, of Yuma, AZ, by his brother Louie Valdez and his wife Danita
Valdez of Socorro, NM, his sister Debbie Valdez of Southport, NC, and many aunts,
uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Joe has 6 grandchildren.
His father Joe N. Valdez II, mother Mary E. (Saiz) Valdez and brother Thomas Valdez
predeceased him in death.
Joe started his civilian career in 1996 as an Aircraft Mechanic, working for
McDonnell Douglas at the Phoenix AZ Airport.
In 2006 Joe meet Sharon Ingram of Albuquerque, NM they were together as soul
mates for 14 years and built a life together Yuma Arizona until his sudden death.
Joe Love of his Country continued until his death. Joe was a member of Marines
Motorcycle Club for 11 years. Joe and his Club loved to do charity work with, Toys
for tots, Saint Judes and many more.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Desert
Valley Mortuary, located at 138 NS Avenue B, Somerton, AZ. The Celebration of Life
for Joe N. ValdezII will be held from 11:00 – 1:00.
Joe N Valdez III (Gordo) will be missed by all.
