Jacob
Havins
Apr 5, 1979 — Aug 5, 2024
Yuma
Jacob Timothy Havins was born April 5, 1979 and passed away on August 5, 2024. He was born
and raised in Yuma, Arizona by his parents, Robin and T.T. Havins. Throughout his life, Jake
touched countless lives with his warmth, generosity and the kindest smile.
Jake is survived by his loving wife Chelsea, his sons, Jacob and Keegan; his bonus sons, Rilen,
Rex, and Rhys; his father, T.T. (Julie); his sister, Sarah (Steve), and too many aunts, uncles and
cousins to name. He was preceded in death by his mother, Robin Havins.
Jake loved baseball and was a talented catcher. He began playing little league at a young age
where he made many lifelong friendships. His passion for baseball continued through his time at
Kofa High School and then Arizona Western College. He carried that love and infectious
enthusiasm to the softball field, golf course, 4th Avenue Gym, and the Elks Lodge #476, where
he was a member.
He followed in his father's footsteps working in farming and spent most of his career as a seed
salesman. He was well suited for it, making fast friendships with those he worked with. Jake
was kind, listened, and could talk with anyone about anything with a genuineness that is rare.
He was first to volunteer his time to help and could always be counted on.
Above all, Jake valued his role as a husband and father. His love for his boys, Chelsea, and his
large extended family was a great source of joy and pride for Jake, as were those many friends
that Jake also considered his family. Jake will be remembered for his kindness, his huge heart,
and his unwavering dedication to his family and friends. His memory will live on in the hearts of
those who knew him and in the many lives he touched.
A celebration of Jake's life is being planned. Details will be posted on the Desert Valley
Mortuary website at https://www.desertvalleymortuary.com/. In lieu of flowers, the family
requests donations be made to Hunter's Army in Jake's honor.
