Christina
Plaza
Oct 7, 1979 — Apr 16, 2022
Yuma
Maria Christina Plaza, 42, earned her wings on April 16th, 2022, when the Lord suddenly called her to His side. She was born on October 7th, 1979, in Salinas, California to Nicolas and Manuela Plaza. She is preceded in death by both her paternal and maternal grandparents, Bartolo, and Estefana Plaza and Severiano and Maria del Refugio Sanchez, respectively, by her uncle Angel Sanchez, aunt Enedina Bueno, and Cousin Raul Campos. She is survived by her 3 children, Jose Antonio Villa, Christina Natalia Villa, and Mateo Pablo Villa. Her parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters: Jose Luis Plaza (Alejandra), Jose Nicolas Plaza (Bertha), Juan Pablo Plaza, Virginia Toledo (Jesus), and Elizabeth Villa (Armando) and numerous nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, and cousins.
She lived in Yuma, AZ until she got married and moved to Salinas, Calif. where she lived on and off for 20+ years. She was a dedicated, hard worker who embraced any life challenges. Her favorite pastime was listening to Jenni Rivera's songs and spending time with loved ones. Her presence was known when you saw her vibrant smile and heard her say "the boss is here"! She enjoyed watching the sunrise and sunset as she mesmerized in God's creation. Her children were her pride and joy. She loved them immensely as they were the light of her life. She was loved by many due to her selfless acts of kindness. Christina was the kind of person who would put everyone else's needs first before her own. She would self-sacrifice her own happiness to make others happy. She was the person who would bring her positive energy, welcoming vibe, and her contagious laughter everywhere she went.
Christina will be dearly missed by many as she ventures through new pastures. Although her time on Earth was short, we comfort ourselves knowing she is in a place full of peace and joy. May she rest in peace in the grace of God.
