Carl Pfeifer was born in Maryland on January 26 and passed during the early morning of April 18 surrounded by family.

He grew up in Maryland and upon graduation enlisted in the United States Marine Corp proudly serving for 30 years, retiring as a Mastery Gunnery Sergeant.  During his extensive Marine Corp career, he served in Vietnam, deployments overseas in Iwakuni and Okinawa, Japan, as well, as being an administrator at Headquarters Marine Corps in Washington, DC.

In 1981, Carl and his family moved to Yuma, Arizona as the next assigned Duty Station.  Yuma is where Carl determined was home and remained at MCAS Yuma until his retirement.  Carl's Yuman status included buying a convertible and painting it purple, he loved the little egg.  He was a member of the American Legion, Yuma Dart League and was very active with his fantasy football league.

Carl is survived by his wife, Rosa, daughter Carla (Dean), Stepsons, Eduardo (Mara) and Luis, Stepdaughters, Barbara, Donna and JoAnn (Ronnie),  Sisters Bernadette and Janice (Don), brother-in-law, Pat, 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 3 nieces and 4 nephews.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Vernon and Mary, brother Edward, sister, Tina, stepsons, Ernesto and Carlos.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Hospice Compassus.  The family would like to offer an eternal thank you to the Nurses of Hospice Compassus who were angels and a great support system during this difficult time.

The family will be holding a private ceremony at this time.  A celebration of life for Carl will be held at a later date.

Rest in paradise Daddy….you are deeply missed.  Play that slot machine, play that hand of cards, enjoy fantasy football and have that scotch and water.
