On September 9, 2026, Bradley Jerome Massey Sr. (65) began his journey to his eternal home.
Born in Phoenix, Arizona, to Linda Massey, Brad spent much of his childhood playing in the fields and canals of Somerton, Arizona, and was later raised by his uncle and aunt, Dennis and Georgina Massey, in Winterhaven, California. Bradley attended San Pasqual High School, where he was part of a legacy of Warriors during the "Decade of Dominance"—a 1970s era defined by numerous state football championships, most notably his team's undefeated season in 1977.
While in school, his love for music blossomed into what we all know him for today: give him an instrument, and he would learn to play it in a matter of minutes. Even in his final days, he still managed to play beautiful tunes for his loved ones.
Bradley is survived by his siblings Gloria White, Robin Holmes, and Richard Galvan (Estrellita); daughters Summer Massey (Jonathan Jones), Alyssa Massey (Daniel Ruiz), and September Massey; sons Bradley Massey Jr. and Aaron Massey; granddaughters Surya, Aiyanna, Shilo, Jordan, Nyla, and Naomi; grandsons Makya, Liam, and Micah; and Elisa Massey (Mendivil), who, though separated in marriage, remained a devoted friend. He also leaves behind a vast circle of extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Linda Massey; infant child "Baby Massey"; brothers Christopher Galvan, Andrew Hayes Sr., and Durman White; sister Debbie Massey; and maternal grandparents Mary and Gabriel Massey.
His service will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Desert Valley Mortuary, 138 N. Ave. B, Somerton, AZ, family viewing from 2:00p.m.-3:00p.m. and service from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tribal Ceremonial Rites will follow at the West Cocopah Indian Reservation Cry House in Somerton, Arizona, beginning at 5:00 p.m., with cremation at 5:00 a.m. on Friday, September 25.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Honorary pallbearers are Bradley Massey Jr., Aaron Massey, Jonathan Massey, Richard Galvan, Danny French, Todd Durand, Zion White, Brandon Durand, Robert Emerson, Carl Emerson, Elmer Emerson, and James Emerson.
