Arturo "Art"
Ignacio Villarreal
Jul 4, 1964 — Oct 1, 2022
Yuma
Arturo Ignacio Villarreal "Art"
Art passed away to cancer after a long eight-year bout. Many people were unaware of his condition due to his vibrant character and devotion to his law firm and clients. Art was known for standing up for those who couldn't represent themselves and never backing away from a good fight.
Art was born in Los Angeles, CA on July 4 th , 1964. He was raised in Whittier, CA and graduated from St. Paul High School then went on to the University of Southern California (USC) and graduated with a dual major in political science and international relations degree. Art continued his education by obtaining a law degree from the University of AZ. He started practicing law in Arizona in 1994 and immediately called Yuma his home. After practicing law and servicing his community for years Art started his own law practice with his good friends John Garcia, Brandon Kinsey, and Ryan Hengl in April 2009.
Art married his beloved wife Pamela in 1998 and raised his family in Yuma. He fathered two sons Gabriel and Arturito "D-2" who attended Yuma public schools. He was proud of his son's accomplishments and frequently talked about his family to his friends. Art coached Yuma Babe Ruth and Yuma Little League for over ten years and was president of Yuma Little League for one year.
Art was a huge USC fan and loved his Trojans. He enjoyed the company of a good friend and watching a football or baseball game. His hobbies included modeling plastic model kits and collecting model trains. He was a big advocate of passing his hobby traits to our youth to teach them the art of details and patience. Art's big smile and fun-loving humor is going to be sorely missed by his family, friends and community.
Art is survived by his wife Pam, and his two sons Gabriel and D-2, his father Arturo Villarreal, his brother Ed Villarreal (BobbI), sister Liz Villarreal, brother-in-law Anthony Mendivil (Mercy), plus numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Art's service will be at Desert Valley Mortuary, 138 S. Avenue B Somerton, AZ 85350 on Friday 21 st at 4pm. Light refreshments will be served.
