Adalberto Lira, 88 of Seely, CA passed away peacefully surrounded by his children and grandchildren on September 15, 2025. Adalberto was born in La Sandia, Guanajuato on April 16, 1937. He worked for Teledyne Aerospace in Costa Mesa, CA for 11 years where he worked as a machinist and created components for Apollo 13 and other NASA missions. He worked at Lucky Construction, El Centro, CA where he serviced equipment. He then went on to work and retire from the Imperial Irrigation District, for which he proudly worked as a construction & maintenance worker for 19 years and retired in January 1996.

In retirement, Adalberto poured his energy into creating a beautiful ranch in Tecate, Mexico, with his beloved wife, Olivia. Together, they enjoyed many years surrounded by horses, livestock, and the laughter of their grandchildren, who considered it one of their favorite places to visit. He also cherished his home in Yuma, AZ, where he cultivated fruit trees and rose bushes. He was an avid baseball fan and life-long supporter of the LA Dodgers. He loved traveling and had a deep appreciation for the beautiful outdoors. He enjoyed horseback riding, hunting, reading and music, especially mariachi.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 62 years, Olivia Lira; his children Alma (Miguel Flores) of El Centro, Rocio (Guillermo Ramirez) of Holtville, Alberto (Elizabeth Lira) of La Quinta, and Gustavo (Melanie Lira) of Imperial. He also leaves behind 12 grandchildren—Mark, Jasmine, Alberto, Belen, Olivia, Marianna, Noah, Miguel, Felicity, Kathryn, Anthony, and Marley—and 5 great-grandchildren, all of whom adored their grandfather.

Adalberto was cherished by his family and deeply respected by all who knew him. His legacy of love, hard work, and devotion will live on in the hearts of those he touched. He will be greatly missed.
